Zeu is very balanced, with an emphasis placed on both education and military strength. While all boys were required to attend school from years seven to sixteen, they could either attend a military academy, a university, or start an apprenticeship after graduation. There were many career options open to them, so they were accustomed to communicating with different people. The majority of Zeunians were thoughtful, logical people.
Zeunians maintained a business relationship with other city-states. They traded goods and exchanged ideas frequently and easily. Whatever they could not provide for themselves they obtained from other nations. Zeunians regarded other city-states and civilizations as useful, but not much more. They were a relatively peaceful people; it it’s entire history not once had Zeu attacked another city-state or civilization without justification. During conflicts between two other city-states (they were not allies or rivals with), Zeu prefered to stay neutral.
While Zeu tried to maintain peaceful relations, it did form alliances and have rivalries with other Greek city-states. It’s main rival was the city-state Hephestue. Hephestue exported almost the same goods as Zeu did (milk, cheese) and their of Hephestue. They had similar governments, were isolated, had economies dependent on trade, and had large, powerful navies. Hephestue did not export any goods that Zeu could not self-provide, so they declined to be partners in trade. Their militaries were also similar, so they feared invasion from each other. Zeu’s main ally was Astra. Astra, located in central Greece, provided Zeu with grain and wheat while Zeu provided them with oranges, grapes, and beef. Another ally of Zeu’s was Apoll. Apoll provided Zeu with metals and tools. Apoll, with a fairly strong navy, was also able to aid Zeu when under attack, and Zeu was able to aid Apoll.
